Abstract

In April 2024 there was year on year (y-on-y) inflation in West Sumatra Province of 3.81 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 107.22. The highest inflation occurred in West Pasaman Regency at 5.52 percent with a CPI of 108.72 and the lowest occurred in Padang City at 3.20 percent with a CPI of 106.60.

By month to month (m-to-m), West Sumatra Province in April 2024 experienced deflation of 0.30 percent. Until April 2024, year to date (y-to-d) inflation in West Sumatra Province amounted to 1.19 percent.
Price developments of various commodities in April 2024 generally showed an increase. Based on the monitoring results of BPS West Sumatra Province in 4 regencies/cities, in April 2024 there was y-on-y inflation of 3.81 percent or an increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from 103.28 in April 2023 to 107.22 in April 2024.
