Abstract

In December 2024 there was year on year (y-on-y) inflation in West Sumatra Province of 0.89 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 106.90. The highest inflation occurred in Bukittinggi City by 1.68 percent with a CPI of 106.38 and the lowest occurred in West Pasaman Regency by 0.37 percent with a CPI of 107.55.

Y-on-y inflation occurred due to price increases indicated by the increase in the index of expenditure groups, namely: clothing and footwear group by 0.87 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel group by 1.15 percent; household supplies, equipment and routine maintenance group by 0.26 percent; health group by 2.79 percent; recreation, sports and culture group by 1.31 percent; education group by 1.73 percent; food and beverage / restaurant supply group by 1.39 percent; and personal care and other services group by 7.49 percent. Meanwhile, the groups that experienced deflation were the food, beverage and tobacco group by 0.09 percent; the transportation group by 0.11 percent; and the information, communication and financial services group by 0.17 percent.
On a month to month (m-to-m) basis, West Sumatra Province in December 2024 experienced inflation of 0.35 percent. Until December 2024, year to date (y-to-d) inflation in West Sumatra Province amounted to 0.89 percent.

October 2024, Year on Year inflation in West Sumatra Province was 1.65 percent and the highest inflation occurred in Dharmasraya Regency at 2.65 percent.

November 2024, Year on Year inflation in West Sumatra Province was 0.80 percent and the highest inflation occurred in Dharmasraya Regency at 1.29 percent.

September 2024, year on year inflation in West Sumatra Province was 1.52 percent and the highest inflation occurred in Dharmasraya Regency at 2.85 percent.

January 2024, Year on Year inflation in West Sumatra Province was 2.57 percent and the highest inflation occurred in West Pasaman Regency at 3.73 percent.
