Abstract

    In December 2024 there was year on year (y-on-y) inflation in West Sumatra Province of 0.89 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 106.90. The highest inflation occurred in Bukittinggi City by 1.68 percent with a CPI of 106.38 and the lowest occurred in West Pasaman Regency by 0.37 percent with a CPI of 107.55.
  • Y-on-y inflation occurred due to price increases indicated by the increase in the index of expenditure groups, namely: clothing and footwear group by 0.87 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel group by 1.15 percent; household supplies, equipment and routine maintenance group by 0.26 percent; health group by 2.79 percent; recreation, sports and culture group by 1.31 percent; education group by 1.73 percent; food and beverage / restaurant supply group by 1.39 percent; and personal care and other services group by 7.49 percent. Meanwhile, the groups that experienced deflation were the food, beverage and tobacco group by 0.09 percent; the transportation group by 0.11 percent; and the information, communication and financial services group by 0.17 percent.
  • On a month to month (m-to-m) basis, West Sumatra Province in December 2024 experienced inflation of 0.35 percent. Until December 2024, year to date (y-to-d) inflation in West Sumatra Province amounted to 0.89 percent.
